At one time California was known as the Golden State and known for the hard work and sacrifices its American founders made. In fact, California is still known as The Golden State. It just is not known for hard or, or even any type of work for that matter.
You say I am being too hard on California? I think not.
Yes, I live in the Silicon Valley (around the Santa Clara area) and there have been hard workers and innovative entrepreneurs. It is just the crazy liberals in California’s congress are determined to destroy the already bad economy and put us all on welfare when they tax companies out of the state.
I really believe they wish to turn the citizens of California that remain here into subservient people dependant on the government dole and under their control. They have been doing this for years by misspending our hard-earned tax dollars by bowing to the unions and other special interest groups.
Take education. California spends 50% of its budget on education. The taxpayers get paid back with California being one of the worst records on the percentage of students graduating. The California Teachers Union makes out like a bandit at the expense of our children.
Since the children do not learn enough in school to even balance a checkbook or fill out an employment application, many are destined to swell the welfare rolls and guaranteeing votes for Democrats that throw them crumbs of welfare. Then they get lazy. Why work when you can get someone else to buy your booze, cigarettes and drugs?
The Liberal Democrats and Marxists in California have been performing better than their Washington, D.C. counterparts; California’s population is 12% of the United States population.
