Bear Problem In Aspen

Residents of Aspen Colorado have been told to harass Black Bears.  In California, it is illegal to harass wildlife and you can wind up with a big fine and even jail time.

It seems the bears are starting to fatten up for the winter and have found out that the garbage in Aspin has a very high fat content.  The bears are now invading homes and restaurants for garbage and food.

Well, the liberals is Aspen have come up with some suggestions for its residents to help solve this problem.  ABC News reported:

Officials are now concerned that across Colorado too many wild bears have developed a tasted for human food and are getting used to people. They are now actively telling residents to be, literally, mean to the bears. Yell at them, throw rocks and if they charge you, stand up to them.

“You want to be as big, as large as possible, and you always want to fight back with a black bear,” said Hampton. Black bears tend to be timid and are generally not aggressive.

Yea, tell that to the families of people who have been eaten by bears.  There might be an upside for residents following this advice: it could take care of Aspen’s liberal problem….

The real solution to this problem is a good conservation program and not the preservation program the PETA People prefer.  These PP’s know nothing about wildlife management and have created this great problem, not the KFC’s and other restaurants.

By “protecting” the bears they have caused them to breed abundantly and they have eaten themselves out of their natural habitat and are now migrating out of their normal areas into the garbage-rich zone of Aspen proper.

Once the bears have eaten all the garbage or the town locks up all of the garbage bins, the bears will start to starve, great weak and spread sickness and disease.  This happens when they greatly exceed the carrying capacity of their environment.

Aspen needs to start issuing a LOT of bear tags and harvest the bears so the land can support their needs.

A .416 Rigby is a lot more humane than starvation.  Turn the responsible hunters loose!
