It is a shame that Tiger Woods is being publically skewered. He was wrong to cheat on his wife, but that should remain between him, his wife, the other woman and God. It is none of our business to know how he sins.
Long ago, the newspapers (remember this was before the Internet existed) and news agencies that actually reported news would skip the infidelity. If it was reported, it was usually buried in the paper at the bottom a page two thirds into the Society Section. Even the tabloids were more interested reporting gruesome accidents or factual accounts (with pictures) of a mom giving birth to an alien (the green ones, not the ones in the news today).
It was well known that President Kennedy had affairs in the White House, but it was not shoved down the public’s throat like it is today. Where has our society gone?
The women of the time kept their affairs private and the only way they became public was when they died and someone discovered the love letters.
Since the women’s lib movement it is different today. Stories of affairs do sometimes get withheld from the press, but only by the women who are shopping the news agencies to see who is willing to pay the highest 7- or 8-figure dollar amount.
It was just announced that there is a seventh woman claiming to have helped Tiger with his infidelity. Two more and Tiger will have the front nine taken care of. Are we going to see a full round?
