Hugo Chavez
I must have been daydreaming when I glanced at the article entitled Chavez: Civilian militia should be armed full-time. Could our nemesis from South America have had a spiritual epiphany Friday night?
I can imagine the Marxist supporters in our congress suddenly embracing our Second Amendment rights. They would instinctively do this, blinded by their admiration of Chavez.I can also imagine Chavez waking up in a sweat and seeing our founding fathers standing beside his bed urging Hugo to change his ways and adopt a constitution that actually enforced the God-given rights our Creator gave to all his children, even children who are being held captive against their rule by a Marxist thug.
Remember the Israelites who were held captive as slaves by the Egyptians? God eventually had Moses talk the pharaoh into freeing them. OK, so it took a devastating hailstorm, a plague of locusts that ate all the plants and a few other real nasty things to help Moses out, but that was part of God’s plan.
So did Resident Thug Chavez see visions of locusts, hail the size of grapefruits or widespread death and famine? Maybe visions of all his nationalized oilfields in flames?
Back to reality, I read the rest of the article. It seems like Chavez really did have an epiphany. He saw his slave subjects rising up all around.
The militias are not our forefather’s militias. They are brainwashed, hardcore Chavez fans who are there to protect him from such popular uprisings.
I would bet he still remembers the coup he survived a few years back.
The Washington Post quoted Chavez as saying:
“Who has seen a militia without weapons? The militias are the people with weapons in hand. Wee need to break old paradigms because we’re still seeing the militias as if they were a complementary force, some battalions that get together once a month over there, or go and march somewhere. No, buddy. The militia is a permanent territorial unit and it should be armed, equipped and trained – campesinos, workers.”
Things must be getting rougher in Venezuela. Chavez saw the signs Friday and decided to arm his militias full-time.
