James Hibberd has an interesting column titled ABC will not air half-hour Obama ad.

Jim, a specialist who covers the TV Industry and a senior reporter for The Hollywood Reporter, goes into an in-depth analysis of why ABC is not airing the Obama advertisement.  It seems that ABC was not included by the Obama campaign.  He even reports “One source said ABC offered the airtime, but the Obama campaign, for whatever reason, declined to buy an ad.”

I know the answer.  I also know how to change channels and the technical stuff behind how they insert those annoying “bugs” in the lower right-hand portion of the screen, which morph into advertisements for another show on that station.  Ask me how the TV stations decode the MP4 shows and how the content providers encode the MP4 streams and I can tell you.

But, I do not know about the TV business, which is probably like some form of black magic.

Oprah Winfrey is refusing to have Sarah Palin, the first second woman nominated for Vice President, on her show anytime before the election.  In the past she invited Barack Obama on her show and she has also given thousands of dollars to his campaign.

She is willing to have Sarah on after the election, though.  It seems like Oprah, a liberal at heart, only supports liberals on her show during election season.  She nixed Clarence Thomas, a black Supreme Court Justice and prevented him from appearing, so maybe race doesn’t really trump womanhood.

In all probability, it’s Hollywood Liberalism vs. American Conservativism.  I bet if Condi Rice were running for President, Oprah would ignore her also.

I support Oprah in her decision not to have conservatives on her show.  After all, I support the entire Bill of Rights, and she has the freedom to do whatever on her show she sees fit.  Liberals, on the other hand, support freedom of speech only when it is theirs.  Obama will bring back the Fairness Doctrine and try to eliminate all conservative speech, including TV and the Internet.
