Elena Kagan, self-touted as the second Jewish woman on the Supreme Court is getting opposition from what on the surface appears to be an unlikely source.  Normally, when a member of a minority group gets nominated for a lifetime seat on the prestigious Supreme Court, advocacy groups from that minority are all too happy, as they should be, to support that person.

A Senate panel asked the Clinton Library for documents they have on Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan. And the panel wants them by June 28^th so they can start the hearings.

The director of the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor, er Museum says they will not be able to meet the deadline. It seems that both Clinton and Obama have the right to read each document and decide if it can be released. Read more »

When the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Bill was first introduced, I said it would limit free speech and was violating the United States Constitution. By limiting spending in the last 30 to 60 days of an election, this bill prevented groups from presenting their views on issues. Read more »

If Sonia Sotomayor is confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States, we will have someone who will ignore the Constitution and make her decisions by whatever she “feels” is the correct decision by ignoring “white men” (her words, not mine) and giving preference to Latinos.  Remember, she pointed to her Latino background as why she thinks she can give “fairer” SCOTUS decisions. When President Obama nominated Sonya Sotomayor, I think he believed he had the ultimate far-left liberal.  She is even to the left of Ruth Ginsburg.

I had predicted that President Obama would be replacing a judge or two on the Supremes, but I have been totally blindsided by Justice David Souter announcing his retirement.  Justices usually stay on the bench for life and only death or a severe case of Alzheimer’s would unseat them.  In my humble observances there may be a couple of early on-set liberal victims still on the bench, but that is just my own supposition.
