Liberal Fair Goes Green: The Ultimate Green Power Source

I was thinking (and that can be quite dangerous in certain situations) of what to write for my 500th post at Liberal Fair.

I like racing and thought about the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway, the Indianapolis 500, and from my home state, the Pennsylvania 500.  If I wrote a post on these races, I would probably get excited and breathe out more carbon dioxide than I usually do, so the races were eliminated.

For a more sedate and less carbon-producing items, I thought about playing 500, visiting memory lane by looking at an old Commodore Amiga 500 computer, or perusing the list of top 500 Green Supercomputers, but I have enough computers in my life and I like Spades, Hearts, Canasta and double-deck Pinochle a lot more. The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 9

Electric cars are the wave of the future.

Imagine unplugging you car in the morning and going 35 to 40 miles to work, plugging in for the day and driving home only to plug the car in again. Read more »

The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 6

Natural gas is being touted by some people as a replacement for gasoline.  It does work and IF more can be pumped from the ground it could also be economical.  There is the catch as the environmentally-challenged are dead set against drilling any more wells.  They cite the same species elimination hoaxes as they used before, but they have added a new twist.  With all the holes being drilled in the earth’s crust, they claim we are weakening the earth’s mantle and we are doomed for disaster when it cracks apart.  This sounds like a modern-day Humpty Dumpty tale to me.

They are also fighting all the pipelines needed for the distribution of the resource of ours, reading from the same old playbook they used in the 60′s.

In Alaska, they said the Alaskan Oil Pipeline would destroy the caribou, since they would not be able to travel to their breeding grounds.  It seems like they thought the caribou would be afraid to walk under the pipeline.  (Yes, the pipeline was elevated to allow for animal migration and added much cost.  We see now a caribou population about eight to ten times greater that what it was before the pipeline.  The now-warmed caribou are much friskier and they too, were much more fruitful and multiply in great abundance.

The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 5

Nuclear power plants have been around for years.  It is too bad some Hollywood liberals produced The China Syndrome and successfully scared a couple of generations from even considering producing more plants.  Nuclear energy is safe, especially with all of today’s technology.  You may hear of a problem of a reactor “leaking” into the containment area because of a corroded pipe that is 30 or 40 years old and everyone runs for the airport.  What part of “containment” don’t they understand?

Even liberal, with a capital “L”, Europe gets most of it’s energy from nuclear power plants.  The very same Marxists that hold up every European Union law and say the US should be like Europe, still tell us here in the United States we cannot use nuclear materials.  Add on top of that professors that have used way too much LSD when they were students in the 60’s protesting about the A-Bomb and all things nuclear, and we have a mess.

I will let you in on a secret: The town of Berkeley in California (The same Berkeley that Pinko Cindy made the parking space in front of the Marine Recruiting Office her permanent home) declared themselves to be a “Nuclear-Free Zone.  That is not the secret.  The real secret is there ARE nuclear materials in Berkeley.  The 60’s freaks are just too stoned to figure that one out.

The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 4

Coal-burning technology is really fantastic today.  Gone are the black sooty smokestacks and the carbon-black (real carbon) residue covering buildings and yes, even whole towns.  There even exists today ways to recover the carbon dioxide, which is a fertilizer and not a greenhouse gas or pollutant.

Even with all these features, the environfreaks, er, environmentally-challenged are demanding no coal-burning plants be built to provide us with electricity.  Every time a new plant gets proposed, the environmentally-challenged are there marching and blocking traffic, demanding that we stop destroying the earth.

Why are these same people not protesting China for building around 1,000 coal-burning plants a week?  I guess they are only out to destroy the US economy, not China’s.  No wonder the Kyoto Protocol made the world’s worst polluters exempt from following the restrictions.

The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 3

Water-powered electric generators are free of pollution and carbon.  Dams have been providing pollution-free electricity for ages.

The self-serving environ-freaks are preventing dams from being built on the possibility that we will destroy a couple of species of weeds.  They also claim that untold quantities of species of insects and animals will be forever lost to the world if we build another dam.  Bambi will be drowned along with Bugs and the relatives of Porky.

A few less insects would be OK since there are prolific breeders due to the fact they cannot think of the concept of abortion.  God was right in creating these little creatures, and if you read Genesis, you will find out that God gave us dominion over them all.

The animals however will just move to higher ground or travel to another place when the dam starts to fill up.  In fact, dams will provide watering holes for other species that will be fruitful and multiply.  There will probably be an increase in the number of animals the habitat can support.

If this (new dams being prevented from being built, not the fruitful creatures) wasn’t bad enough, the environmentally-challenged (how about that for being PC?) are demanding to tear down the dams we have built.  They want to see the land returned to the day before God created Man.

I guess their concept of separation of religion and state prevents them from reading the Bible.

The Democrat Energy Plan – Part 2

From an earlier post: Every alternative-energy product ever dreamed about immediately takes the place of our fossil-fuel usage.

I had to set the table for this feast by quoting what I wrote in a earlier post.

Take wind power.  It could be a viable energy source if there were always winds during the peak periods that we use electricity.  Mother Nature does not always corporate, and there are no storage facilities to store the electricity; it is just dumped into the power grid.  If it does not get used, it is gone.

Since wind-generated electricity does not create a “carbon footprint” (the fact that the aforementioned footprint does not exist is fodder for another article) it should be welcomed with open arms by the Marxist environmentalists.  But lo and behold, the windmills in dem thar hills are now silent.  There is a study in California (where else) to determine how many birds, both protected and non-protected species, are being killed and why.  There is a windmill farm along 580 where they are turning and there are biologists hiking the hills daily and counting and categorizing the carcasses.

I don’t know how many, but I know the reason: the bird-brained creatures are just too dumb to fly around them.  Maybe it’s something like some of our liberal untrained children racing the train in a car; sometimes they lose.

Also, all of a sudden, erecting these windmills might destroy untold species of insects that lay eggs in the ground or borrowing garter snakes.  The crazies have filed suits to prevent building all over California.

And the liberal who has fought against using our own resources, Ted Kennedy, blocked installation of windmills off the coast of Massachusetts.  It’s funny he had no problem leaving a car leaking gasoline and oil in the water for over 24 hours in a body of water with Drowned Mary inside.
